Examination of Femoral Neck to Recognize the Prevalence of Regional Osteoporosis in Patients

Author: F.J. REENA, L. UMADEVI
Abstract: Osteoporosis, in recent years, has emerged as a foremost public health delinquent of global importance. As the world population is aging as a outcome of increased life anticipation due to advances in healthcare, the prevalence of osteoporosis is also constantly on the rise. Due to this reduced bone strength. An osteoporotic person is at increased risk of developing fragility fractures. These fragility fractures predominantly involve hip, vertebral column and sometimes other skeletal sites like radius. The clinical consequences of the osteoporosis induced fragility fractures can be enormous. Apart from leading to temporary or permanent physical disability, they put the person and family involved under huge psychological stress. This research work proposes descriptive analysis of femoral neck to know the prevalence of regional osteoporosis in patients.
