Crystal Growth and Structural Refinement of Chlorzoxazone (5-Chloro -3H-benzooxazol-2 2-one): An Effective Muscle Relaxant

Abstract: The title compound, chlorzoxazone has a good medicinal interest in the treatment of painful musculoskeletal conditions and is also used to inhibit allergic rhinitis and asthma. In crystal structure interpretation of chlorzoxazone were carried out by operating single X The structural refinement was done by using SHELXS 97 program. It was observed that the cry chlorzoxazone undergoes in space group P = 9.0202(5) ?, c = 10.0463(5) ?, a = 93.435 (4)0, calculated density is 1.658 Mg m-3. The value for structure factor was 172 and final R = 0 reflections. The title compound, chlorzoxazone has a good medicinal interest in the treatment of painful musculoskeletal the present study, the molecular as well as the ray diffraction technique. The unit cell dimensions a = 3.8166(2) = 93.435 (4)0, ß = 95.507(3)0, ?= 98.373 (4)0, V= 339.6(3) Å3, and z=2; 3. The value for structure factor was 172 and final R = 0.0312 for 1209 unique was done by using SHELXS 97 program. It was observed that the crystallization of 1 with triclinic crystal system1.
