Experimental Study of the Possibility of using Belemnite in the Treatment of Wounds

Abstract: Belemnite is the fossilized skeleton of the ancient squid existed in warm shallow waters starting the Jurassic till the Cretaceous periods. It is a mineral widely used in the folk medicine, in particular, it should be considered, first of all, as the wound-healing remedy. Belemnite is used as a powder and decoction in the folk medicine. The belemnite decoction, possessing a unique composition, is used in the folk medicine in the presence of bone fractures, polyarthritis, deforming arthrosis, bony rarefication; after traumas, injuries. However, the scientific basis of the therapeutic effect of belemnite has not yet been studied.
