A Comparative study in prevention of Dandodbhedjanya Vyadhi by external application of Nadihingu (Gardenia gummiferra) and Yashtimadhu (Glycyrrhizaglabra) on Infant gums

Abstract: Background: The dentition is one of the important landmark in assessing the growth and development of a child, however, it has not been dealt in the Charak and Sushrutasamhita; Vaghbhat has dealt mainly the complications arising during dentition period. The detail aspect is not given in Ayurved text except for description by Acharya Kashyapa. Prevalence of signs and symptoms occurring during primary tooth eruption in infants was founded 70.5% from various articles and studies in various countries. Aim: Study in the prevention of Dandodbhedjanyavyadhi by external application of Nadihingu and Yashtimadhu on infant gums Material & Methods: The present study is designed as a Double arm parallel single blind clinical study, in which minimum of 15 patients will be enrolled in each two groups. In Group A (Drug A-Nadihingu with Honey local application) – will be administered and in Group B (Drug B-Yashtimadhu with Honey) –will be administered twice a day after meal for till the eruption of lower incisors, maximum 2 months. Assessement will be recorded on each15thday,post intervention follow up- 2 months. Results: Changes will be observed in subjective parameters such Atisara (Diarrhea), Kasa(cough) ,Svas(Asthma) , Trushna(Thirst), Pothaki(Trachoma), Kukunak, Jwar (Fever)chardi(vomiting), and objective parameters as CBC Conclusion: Suitable conclusion will be drawn post completion of the trial.
