Author: KARTHIK EVG, SUBHASHREE R, UMA MAHESHWARI T.N
Abstract: Aim: The aim of the study is to check the incidence of full mouth rehabilitation patients in a private institution. Background: The objective of full mouth rehabilitations is not only the reconstruction and restoration of the worn out or deceased dentition, but also maintenance of health of the entire stomatognathic system. Occlusion wear and tear is a gradual process happening throughout life.Excessive occlusal wear may lead to an occlusal disharmony, pulpal trauma, aesthetic disfigurement and impaired function Materials and method: The current study is an institutional based retrospective study performed over a review of 49832 cases. The study was conducted between July 2019 - March 2020. Chi Square test. Age, gender and factors indicated for full mouth rehabilitation were also compared using Chi square test. Pearson correlation was done to assess the relationship between age, gender and factors for a FMR. Statistical significance was set at p <0.05. Results: The results obtained shows a negligible correlation between the age and occlusion and significant correlation between gender and vertical loss of bone height , gender and occlusion. Conclusion: Within the limitations of the study, Most of the full mouth rehabilitation were males than females. Most of the vertical loss was between 1-5mm in males than in females. Periodontal and plural pathology was the reason for tooth loss. Category 2 turner and Missirilian classification was common in both males and females. Class I Seibert's classification was seen in above 50 years of age whereas the ACP-PDI classification was Class IV of adjunct therapy, Class III of occlusion was predominantly seen above the age of 50 years and was seen in females than in males.
