Mental Health: The Matter of Serious Concern- A Review

Abstract: Mental health needs a well-balanced ambiance which creates a normal day to day life; it includes our thoughts and feelings about ourselves and others, how we relate to other people, how we function day to day, and how we cope with ups and downs of life. There are things that can challenge our mental health and shift the balance. These challenges can come and go over time they may be brief or may last for many years. They can leave us feeling stressed, sad, worried, and lonely and most of the times reasons are unknown, but the factors which leads to imbalance of mental health has to eradicate and pay attention in bringing back the balance of our mental state to normal and it has to begin with changes and modifications in lifestyle which includes diet, sleep, exercise and managing stress levels. A healthy lifestyle attenuates to have balanced mental state. Our day-to-day activities like sleeping, eating, exercise, exposure to sun light, greatly influence our mental health. A healthy diet affects brain health by Boosting brain development; Poor nutrition can alter brain chemistry and nerve function affecting mood, sleep patterns, and thinking. Mental illnesses have been linked to abnormal functioning of nerve cell circuits or pathways that connect particular brain regions. The precise cause of mental illness is not understood. These disorders are caused by a mixture of biological, psychological, and environmental causes. Micronutrient shortages that adversely impact mental wellbeing can also be correlated with malnutrition.
