Estimation of total Flavonoids content and Studies on antioxidant activity of different extracts of Cadaba farinosa Forsk by Nitric oxide scavenging and FRAP techniques

Author: JAMBULA DINESHBABU, VENUGOPALAN SANTHOSH KUMAR
Abstract: Cadaba farinosa (family Capparidaceae) is for the most part known as "Indian cadaba" in ayurvedic conventional framework. The current study, aerial parts of various concentrates (Pet.ether, EA and methanol) of Cadaba farinosa was assessed for its in-vitro antioxidant potential by nitric oxide revolutionary and FRAP examine taking ascorbate as standard and assessment of all out flavonoids accepting Rutin as standard. The methanolic concentrates of Cadaba farinosa and ascorbate showed antioxidant potential having IC50 204µg/ml and 135µg/ml in nitric oxide scavenging assay. The methanolic concentrates of C. farinosa and ascorbate showed antioxidant potential having IC50 233µg/ml and 50µg/ml found in FRAP test. An IC50 esteem was begin that methanolic concentrates of C.farinosa more proficient in nitric oxide extremists and FRAP measure when analyzed EA and PE concentrates. The methanolic concentrate of C. farinosa was discovered higher substance of flavonoid than that of PE and EA concentrates. Invitro antioxidant activity clearly show methanolic concentrates of C. farinosa have better antioxidant action because of the presence of flavonoids content. This outcome shows that of methanolic concentrates C. farinosa could fill in as regular antioxidant, which might be valuable in forestall free extremist incited illnesses.
Keyword: Cadaba farinosa, Nitric oxide radical, FRAP, total flavonoids.
