Abstract: Objectives: The objective of present work was to develop and standardize UV-Spectrophotometric method for estimation of Benzimidazole in marketed formulation. Materials and method: UV –Spectrophotometric method was developed using 0.1 N HCl as solvent. The developed method was standardized in terms of validation parameters such as simple, sensitive ,precise ,linear, accurate, robust, reproducible as per ICH Q2 (R1) guidelines For estimation of Benzimidazole in marked formulation this newly developed method was successfully applied. Results: Benzimidazole exhibits ? max at 273 nm and in the beer’s range 2 to 10 µg/ml beer’s law was obeyed. The Limit Of Detection is found to be 0.62µg/ml and limit of quantification is found to be 1.89µg/ml Recovery of Benzimidazole in marketed formulation was obtained in range of 102-115% .All the precision and repeatability results were observed within the acceptance range less than 2 %. Assay of Benzimidazole was found to be in range of 95-101 % Conclusion: The method was found to be simple accurate environment freely, reproducible and marketed formulation of Benzimidazole can be estimated.
