The leading role of Iranian Muslim physicians in the development of medical knowledge

Abstract: Iranian Muslim physicians and scientists have played a leading role in the advancement of medical science. The history of Muslim medicine is one of the most important fields in the study of Islamic history and civilization. From the very beginning of its formation days, the Islamic society paid attention to medicine due to its necessity, and Muslims, while using the medical experiences of pre-Islamic societies, such as Iranians, Indians and Romans, that were received through translation; they themselves involved in writing medical books and transferring their own experiences. By examining and studying the histories of ancient medicine in Islam, it can be seen that Muslims had a special interest in observing ethical standards, especially in medicine since the earliest times, and there are many great scholars and scientists who have done brilliant works in this field since old times. This paper aims to explore the leading role of Islam and Iranian Muslim physicians in the development of medical knowledge through a review-library research method.
