| Abstract:

Chalcones are potential molecule, biosynthetic product of Shikimate pathway. It is considered as precursors of flavonoids and isoflavonoids. Chemically it is 1, 3-diphenyl-2-propene-1-one and contain two aromatic rings linked by a three carbon a, ?-unsaturated carbonyl system. It is synthesized by Claisen-Schmidt condensation and shows many diverse pharmacological activities, some of the activities highlighted in this review are Anti-inflammatory, Antiarthritic, Antioxidant and Anti-ulcer.
