Anticoagulant Activity Leaf Extract and Fraction Lick Leaf (Villebrunea Rubescens) for Human Blood

Abstract: Lick Leaf (Villebrunea rubescens) is one of the medicinal plants of the family Urticaceae. Lick the leaves used empirically to treat people contusion or bruise on Yapen Islands District. Based on the results of phytochemical screening V. rubescens contains alkaloids, tannins, saponins, quinones, and flavonoids. Research that has been done was antibacterial test which inhibition zone was 8.7 mm (125 µg/mL), concentration anticoagulants (extract) was 250 ppm, and cytotoxic with LC50 values was 17.98 ppm. The purpose of this study was to determine the anticoagulant activity of the fraction of n-hexane, ethyl acetate, and ethanol leaves lick at various concentrations with the Lee-White method and a blood smear (Eustek). The test was performed on human blood group A, B, O and AB. Tested blood obtained eight volunteers. The study was conducted with five treatments, the first treatment of the blood with no treatment, the second treatment of the blood by V. rubescens fraction, the third treatment of blood by EDTA, four of his treatment of blood by fraction V. rubescens and EDTA, and the treatment of the blood fifth by ethanol. The results showed that the fraction of ethanol and ethyl acetate fraction had leaf lick each anticoagulant activity at concentrations of 50 ppm and 250 ppm. The conclusion of this study is the fraction of ethanol and ethyl acetate fractions potential as an anticoagulant while the hexane fraction of potential as a coagulant. The fourth treatment fractions of blood by V. rubescens and EDTA and the fifth is the treatment of blood by ethanol.
